Before using
Woody Pet Professional Animal Bedding it is best to
strip the stall completely. Do not use lime as it works against
the odor-removing ability of this product.

Start with 3-6 bags for
a 10 x 10 stall or 4-7 bags for a 12 x 12 stall. The quantity
of bags needed depends on the use of rubber mats in the stall.
(Rubber mats=fewer bags.)

Woody Pet can be used in pelleted
form in your horses stall or it can be “fluffed” into a soft
bed. If you wish to expand the pellets, add approximately
five gallons of water per bag. Enough water should be added
to expand almost all of the pellets.

For the first few days there
will be limited urine spots, as they will be absorbed into
the bedding. Initially the wet spots can be mixed in to the
dry bedding, however, it is recommended that the wet spots
be removed as soon as they begin to saturate the bedding to
avoid ammonia odors (usually after the first three days).
Remove the manure with the Fine Tines Picker Fork, making
sure to sift out all the bedding. |

After approximately one
week, the stall should need more bedding. Of course if a horse
is extremely messy or urinates a great deal, or the facility
has oversized stalls, two bags a week may be needed.

| 6. |
During hot dry weather spray water on the
bedding to avoid dust. A certain level of moisture with
Woody Pet Professional Animal Bedding can be maintained
as the product is designed to absorb liquid, unlike shavings
and straw.
